10 Strongest Non-Boss Enemies In The Super Mario Franchise
2. Elite Wizzerd
In Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, there is an area called The Pit of 100 Trials where Mario must endure 100 battles in a row.
The first few fights are a piece of cake but they get progressively more difficult. Because you only have a few opportunities to buy consumables in The Pit, you'll be low on healing items by the time you reach the end. This is very aggravating when you reach the last ten floors where you must repeatedly battle the most difficult enemy in the game, the Elite Wizzerd.
You see, every enemy has their own strategy to defeat Mario's party. Some enemies rely on flame attacks while others rely on boosting their stats. Some enemies upgrade their defence while others disable the player's move-set.
Elite Wizzerd's strategy is... every strategy. Not only does he have devastating attacks, he can electrify his body, heighten his evasion, turn invisible, or increase his size and strength.
When an enemy is this difficult, it's tempting to bombard them with all of your most powerful attacks. Sadly that doesn't work. The Elite Wizzerd can create four copies of himself, causing your party to waste time attacking his clones.
