It isn't impossible to get more out of nowhere than a boss you can only access by buying the other half of the game you already spent 60 bucks on, but it sure ain't easy either.

Throughout Asura's Wrath, you are led to believe that the ultimate enemy of the game are Asura's former comrades turned world conquerors and daughter kidnappers, and of course the giant lava monster Vlitra.

After you take out all of them, surprise, turns out the weird ass spider creature that's been helping you all this time was the creator deity, Chakravartin, the whole time. And naturally, he wants to destroy the world and try again. Asura, naturally, takes exception to this plan.

While Chakravartin's spider form was a mainstay of the game, which is why he isn't higher, there's no reference to Chakravartin anywhere else, which is a bit odd considering he's the flippin CREATOR DEITY.

But of course, clueing you in on the true final boss of the game might have tipped players off early that they'd have to spend more money to finish the story, and Capcom might have been a bit shy about that for obvious reasons.
