10 Surprisingly Great Multiplayer Modes In Single-Player Games

5. Bioshock 2

The Last Of Us
Take-Two

When you think of Bioshock, your mind doesn't exactly wander to its multiplayer modes. Well, Bioshock 2 offered a truly addictive multiplayer suite that saw players running around Rapture, looking for Little Sisters, and frantically shooting each other in the process. Nothing particularly unique but pure fun.

Including the DLC, Bioshock 2's multiplayer spanned 8 modes across 16 intricately designed maps. Players collected ADAM to level-up, which in turn unlocked new Plasmids, Gene Tonics, and weapons. As if the setting and themes of Bioshock didn't make it unique enough, using the plasmids in conjunction with the guns made it a memorable blast.

And, finally, you could become a Big Daddy. If players managed to find a Big Daddy suit within the map they could don it and gain access to new weapons, as well as significantly increased health. It's similar to Star Wars Battlefront's Heroes but done far better. This was a fantastic mode in a massively underrated video game.
