10 Terrible Video Game First Levels That Made Us Rage Quit

6. Ordon Village - The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is a quintessential example of a fantastic game that just takes too damn long to get going.

The first hour-or-two takes place in Ordon Village, where players are forced to interact with the locals and perform mundane tasks - like catching fish - under the guise of a "tutorial."

As interesting as it is to see Link's connection to his community, did it really need to be so damn slow and long?

This could've been a breezy 20-minute intro and pissed few people off in the process, but apparently producer Shigeru Miyamoto was concerned that players would need longer to acclimate to the Wii's motion controls and so had the dev team triple the tutorial's original intended length.

As such, by the time players finally get to don Link's iconic green tunic, they're practically foaming at the mouth waiting for the game proper to start.

Perhaps had more of the tedious activities been left optional for players, this wouldn't have felt like such an obstinate brick wall to the real meat of the experience.
