10 Terrible Video Game First Levels That Made Us Rage Quit

2. Twilight Town - Kingdom Hearts II

Kingdom come deliverance

There are two types of people in this world - those who loathe Kingdom Hearts II's opening Twilight Town section with a passion, and those who are simply wrong.

The game kicks off with a lengthy prologue centered around a new character, Roxas, who is trapped in a virtual simulation of Twilight Town.

This section can easily take players around three hours to get through, and given that it's largely comprised of performing mundane tasks in an empty location in-between sitting through an interminable slew of cutscenes, to say that it outstays its welcome is quite the understatement indeed.

By the time the veil is finally lifted and protagonist Sora is brought into the fold, players might well be left sleepy and irritated by the sheer excessive muchness of Roxas' prologue.

It certainly has its defenders, but given that Kingdom Hearts' story is a nigh-on incomprehensible salad of fantastical nonsense for all but the most die-hard fans, this wasn't the most agreeable way to kick the game off.
