10 Terrible Video Games You Clearly Only Bought For The Achievements

6. King Kong

Let's move onto the infamous world of movie tie-ins now. Peter Jackson's King Kong remake was a surprising hit at the box office (the film even won three Oscars!) so a tie-in game was a near certainty. While not being insultingly awful, the game is distinctly meh; despite some entertaining levels where you play as the titular giant.

The rest of the game is a distinctly average first-person shooter; linear, repetitive and unchallenging. The most interesting aspect of these levels (where you play as Adrian Brody's character from the film) are the puzzles; they're simple but at least they add variety. Kong's levels are far more exciting, though they also border on frustration thanks to some poor controls. Still, smashing stuff with cinema's most famous giant ape is a unique experience to say the least.

You may find some enjoyment in this game (even an average first-person shooter can still be an entertaining enough experience) but, let's be honest, it's not a game you'll return to once you've rinsed all the gamerscore you can from it.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
