10 TERRIFYING Enemies From Children's Video Games

4. Kirby: Triple Deluxe - Hunter Scarfy

A slight variation on a common enemy from the Kirby series, Hunter Scarfy's are even more determined to chase down the player. Unlike most other enemies, they can pursue Kirby across the background and foreground of a level and cannot be inhaled.

This means the player may be tempted to avoid inhaling them, as this is what causes their transformation from cute to carnivorous.

However, Hunter Scarfy's are usually guarding important items for level progression, such as keys, or various other collectibles. They live up to their name and hunt players down, once Kirby takes these items , so there is sometimes the player has few options other than to quickly scoop up and item and starting fleeing from the area.

These enemies are not incredibly speedy, but they are less hindered by certain obstacles than the player, since they can fly on an infinite basis and do not need to pause their pursuit.

This means that until the player has successfully reached a door they can enter, or has created enough distance between Kirby and the Hunter Scarfy, they can never be entirely sure that they are not still being hunted.
