10 Things AEW’s Video Game Must Learn From WWE 2K22
5. DLC Is A Nuisance
...yet more cash-grabbing.
There's no point in sugarcoating this writer's opinion on DLC. Yes, it is fine when developers drip-feed content out to extend a game's shelf-life or give players something new to do, but it's hardly cool when they knowingly withhold content for the sake of a few extra bucks later.
2K Games are at it again in WWE 2K22. Anyone who bought a version of the game that included a season pass is covered, but anyone who didn't? Stump up, mate! They won't be able to play as another 30-ish characters unless they purchase a pass or buy individual DLC packs as they roll out.
Keeping back wrestlers sucks, and AEW shouldn't do it. There's just no way it'd sit well with anyone if they're using someone the stature of Jon Moxley as a carrot to dangle in front of fans in a bid to secure pre-orders. 2K tried that with Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' in 2K20, and it was rubbish.
