10 Things Only Disney Infinity Fans Will Understand
3. The Toy Box
The scripted play sets that come with many of the characters are a blast, easily the easiest entry into the game if you just want to grab a figurine and get stuck in, but the heart of Disney Infinity lies with the Toy Box. This is where that spark of imagination they speak of during the introduction really comes to life. While the play set action is gaming in the more traditional sense, with narratives to follow, missions to complete and so on, the Toy Box is a far more ambitious proposal. Think of it as a dumbed down Disney version of Minecraft. Devoted Minecraft fans will probably throw their pickaxes to the ground in anger at the comparison, but it's not far off. You're given a vast stretch of land to develop, and a massive bag of bits and pieces to use to build your own play area. It's like you're crafting your own Disney play park. Have a look at some of the creations that people have come up with (you can share your projects online with other users) and you'll be blown away at the complexity the system allows. Oh, and it adds more to the "collect-them-all" concept that pervades throughout Disney Infinity, since you'll spend a lot of your time in the rest of the game trying to unlock more play pieces to use in your Toy Box. As if we needed even more things to collect.
Game-obsessed since the moment I could twiddle both thumbs independently. Equally enthralled by all the genres of music that your parents warned you about.
