10 Things GTA 6 Can Learn From Red Dead Redemption 2

4. The Little Details Are Important

RDR2 is a masterclass in stopping to smell the roses, of the ludicrous amount of care and attention a developer can put into a game when they spend the better part of a decade working on it.

Rockstar is of course in a unique and privileged position in the industry, with each of their games generating huge profits which allow them to meditate on each subsequent title for so long. Even so, it's required a ridiculous and highly controversial amount of crunch time to get the game this absurdly rife with mind-boggling detail.

While one sincerely hopes that a potential 2022 release allows Rockstar to streamline their production process moving forward and reduce the "need" for crunch, RDR2's unprecedented level of attention to things like clothing physics and even the size of your horse's testicles sure isn't taken for granted.

With GTA 6 presumably being set in a bustling city, it will certainly face a steep challenge trying to make its more densely-packed locale this detailed, but anything less would feel like a step back after Rockstar's mind-blowing commitment to the absurd little details in their latest.
