10 Things Nobody Wants To Admit About Final Fantasy XV

2. Too Many Things Just 'Happen'

Final Fantasy XV Luna
Square Enix

Ardyn pulling off some 'magic clone' trick so you accidentally push Prompto off a moving train (and then never using or mentioning it again), Prompto revealing that's an MT soldier forged from the soul of a demon (or something), only for it to never be brought up afterwards. Ardyn coming across as though he works for the Empire, then hanging out with your four characters as they barely question his motives, instead remarking "This guy is a little weird" as you all go on a quest together.

Luna dying, then Noct and co. arriving in a burning Temeria despite Noctis worrying it'll be a hard time, then talking to one random person in a large expanse and leaving again. Empire head-honchos Verstael and Ravus (key figures in the Kingsglaive movie and at the beginning of the game) are respectively both nowhere to be seen or infected and found dead after a protracted boss fight.

Noctis' hatred for his dad, Gladiolus randomly leaving and returning in a 'comedy mission', Iris coming onto Noct despite him being about to get married, Iggy's sporadic injury that blinds him, yet doesn't effect combat one bit...

You can tell this has been cooking for 10 years, as each major element I've described was most likely conceptualised a larger part of the narrative at one time or another. However, in being converted from Final Fantasy: Versus XIII into this weird hybrid of character, game design and cross-medium storytelling, the result of which is incredibly messy and nigh-on unintelligible.
