4. A Little Time Traveling Won't Hurt Anybody... Right?
As is obvious by the slow pace of Animal Crossing's gameplay, developing your town/island is designed to take a while. There's always something to do at any given moment, but with significant upgrades, new buildings, and growing crops, you'll be expected to wait for them to be finished. 'It'll be done by tomorrow morning,' Tom Nook promises you. Yet, you'd prefer it would be done immediately, but how could you make tomorrow... today? Well, that's where time traveling comes in.
Time traveling is a hot button gameplay mechanic as it's not MEANT to be part of the game, but it's something many players take part in. I mean come on, it's like a mobile game with microtransactions and you're just bypassing those purposely-long wait times! You're thinking three steps ahead of the developers and now your town/island's the thriving metropolis you envisioned it to be!
This is still a divisive topic amongst fans, as some believe it cuts out some of the tedious waiting embedded in the game, while others believe the waiting portion, the anticipation, is a key component to the experience. Quite frankly, there's no right answer, but honestly, it's awfully tempting isn't it...
