10 Things The Nintendo NX Must Do To Be Successful

7. Actually Think About The Name

Has there ever been a console that's been given such a catastrophically awful name? As if it wasn't bad enough that the Wii U's predecessor evoked thoughts of a certain everyday action involving the relieving of unneeded fluids, Nintendo came up with the bright idea of carrying that name into the next generation by slapping a U on the end of it.

And so began all the confusion over whether the Wii U was supposed to be an entirely brand new device, or simply an updated version of the original Wii with some added bells and whistles.

Not that the reality actually mattered. Yes, it turned out to be an entirely new console, but the damage was already done - hardcore gamers weren't impressed by the mild hardware upgrade and casual audiences simply passed-up on the thought of buying one if they already owned a Wii.

The NX moniker may just be a placeholder for the real name, but even that would be better than a Wii U Mk.II or some such nonsense. Please Nintendo, make sure everyone knows that your next offering is completely unique in design and function.
