10 Things To Love And Hate About The Spyro Reignited Trilogy
2. Hate: The Camera
Saying to "hate" the camera may be a little strong, especially if you can cast your mind back to how unwieldy it was in the original trilogy, but despite all the advances in technology and control-style since then, it still remains a niggle.
In the originals, you would find yourself fighting with some combination of the shoulder buttons to desperately try and fling the camera around so you could follow the target you were charging, usually either giving up and going blind or stopping and hitting triangle to re-centre.
Not so now. They have sensibly moved the camera controls to the right stick, as has been the modern norm. However, this doesn't mean that it is without its faults. It is definitely less clunky and cumbersome than it was, but the fact remains that you will still be forced from time to time to stand stock still and pan the camera back around to see where you want to go.
It also reacts strangely in tight spaces and near walls, pulling in so tight that you lose almost all peripheral vision. Again, not the most egregious sin but an improvement from the original series that could have been improved that little bit further.
