10 Things Uncharted 4 Already Does Better Than Quantum Break
3. Incredible Acting Performances Across The Board
We're getting to a really cool period in gaming history, where guys like Nolan North, Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson etc. are starting to become recognisable acting talents, yet have cut their teeth on bringing digital characters to life. It's unprecedented, but you need only watch any of the cutscenes in the Uncharted trilogy or The Last of Us to get a feel for just how incredible it all is.
Somewhere along the way for Quantum Break, it was decided that bonafide Hollywood talent was going to be brought in - but for whatever reason, they just don't perform naturally on-set, or in the game's hokey world. Aidan Gillen chews more scenery than Kirby, and Dominic Monaghan's 'gritty' American accent is so distractingly bad, it'll put you off almost everything he tries to talk about with any degree of seriousness.
Naughty Dog don't produce bad performances, that much is fact. The trailers alone for Uncharted 4 show Sully as a far older man, debating intently with Sam as to whether Nate should be adventuring again, whilst Nolan North's performance as Drake is one layered with confliction as he juggles his returning brother with the 'happy home life' of living with Elena.
You can already tell that Uncharted 4 is going to knock it out the park yet again, whereas Quantum Break is - perhaps intentionally - stuck in B-movie/'sci-fi original' territory.
