10 Things Uncharted 4’s Beta Revealed About The Full Game
2. Graphics Are Outstanding In Every Respect
It's one thing to look at screenshots and trailers for a game, but as this generation has proven in abundance, the product on day of release is nearly always a far cry from that we were shown beforehand. Well, and obviously this is without taking the single-player into account, it looks as though Uncharted is as gorgeous in motion as it is through pre-release. Character models are thoroughly stunning, from Nate's facial structure slowly resembling more of actor Nolan North, to the material design on Sully's shirt, Lazarevic's many war scars and every other character model in between. Levels burst with vibrant environment detail as pieces of debris get knocked astray by wayward bullets and dust kicks up around melee brawls on the ground. Firefights are fun mixes of robust animation and visual flair that accentuate every punch swung and every explosion triggered. It's a testament to Naughty Dog's pedigree as a developer that prioritises graphical fidelity and performance before diving into the levels themselves, that Uncharted 4 runs like a well oiled machine, regardless of whether you're analysing detail on a micro or macro level.
