10 Things We Desperately Want From Resident Evil 8

5. More Puzzles

Beloved by some and utterly detested by others, puzzles are a fundamental part of Resident Evil's DNA. The classic-era titles relied heavily on brain-tickling puzzles to keep players engaged during the quieter portions of the game. These would often range from simple riddles to combining a series of items together to create rudimentary keys for some of the strangest locks in video game history.

The puzzles were never too intrusive or difficult and were the perfect counterbalance to the encroaching horror that often surrounded you. Which is why it's a shame that Capcom has dialled them back in the recent entries, they were all but absent from Resident Evil 5 and 6, but have slowly crept back into the fold.

Fans have expressed their enthusiasm for their return, with many singling out the Jigsaw-like trap room from Resident Evil 7 as one that game's biggest highlights and something that should be revisited in Village.

They don't need to be Silent Hill or P.T. levels of cryptic, but challenging enough that players need to stop for a few moments to think it through. So come on Capcom, give us some interesting conundrums to pour over whilst we collectively cack our pants.
