10 Things We Know About PES 2018
3. Diego Maradona Will Also Be Playable
After all that Bolt-related madness, it feels much more authentic to hear that Diego Maradona will be included in PES 2018. The Argentinian, hand-ball-loving party boy won't be the only legend to be featured, but he is the first to be revealed by Konami. As one of the best footballers ever, his inclusion makes sense.
Maradona will also help promote PES 2018 by acting as an ambassador of sorts for the game, which is another strategy highlighting the differences between FIFA and PES. Whereas EA prefer modern stars like Ronaldo to talk up their game, Konami are steeping themselves in history and giving a nod to the past. Perhaps that's wise, because they can't offer the same up-to-the-minute feel as FIFA.
Playing as Maradona in PES 2018 should be a sheer joy, especially if the tricky attacking midfielder has high dribbling skills and powerful shooting stats. There's no word yet if he's playable outside of myClub, but it'd make sense if he was.
