5. No Ultimate Team

As any longtime fan of the FIFA series can likely attest, the inclusion of Ultimate Team within a sports game can prove to be something of a poison for the franchise. This is because while not necessarily a bad mode on its own merits, the immense profitability of Ultimate Team has seemingly led to EA hyper-focusing on its cash cow every year, while other game modes are left neglected.

However, unlike the FIFA series, Ultimate Team never gained significant traction among the EA UFC fanbase leading EA to recently announce that the mode will not be returning in UFC 4, with the team behind the upcoming release instead choosing to focus their time on improving the title's other game modes.

In a recent interview, the developers explained that they didn't feel that the Ultimate Team format transferred as successfully to the 1v1 nature of MMA, and that fans just didn't seem to connect with the mode. Will they ever have a similar epiphany with FIFA?
