One of the more surprising elements of the EA UFC 4 reveal was the announcement of a new online game mode named Blitz Battles. Unlike the tedium of Ultimate Team or the ridiculously competitive, and overpowered CAF-infested ranked scene of previous titles, Blitz Battles offers a new and more fun-focused experience for gamers looking to test their skills against others online.

The game mode will see players compete in a round-based tournament with an ever-changing ruleset to ensure that prospective champions have to be well-versed in all aspects of gameplay to have a shot at emerging victorious.

In a game that mimics a sport where every contest comes with the possibility of one of the combatants suffering a career-ending injury, adding in a mode that adds a well-needed dose of fun into the upcoming title will likely prove to be much appreciated by fans.
