10 Things We Learned From The EA UFC 4 Reveal
2. Gameplay Overhauls
Anyone who has ever played the EA UFC series will have likely come away with two overwhelming sentiments regarding the gameplay.
1. The striking in-game is crisp, clean, and largely realistic.
2. The grappling is a piss-poor excuse of a system, that doesn't even come close to replicating the excitement of a back-and-forth scramble-filled bout.
So, in order to ensure that the former remains true while making the necessary adjustments to the latter, EA announced that the entire gameplay will be undergoing a major overhaul in UFC 4.
Among the improvements promised in the upcoming game is a new clinch system, that will hopefully make it so that players don't have to find themselves on the receiving end of a prime Wanderlei Silva-style barrage every time they're caught in a collar and elbow tie-up online.
In addition to this, EA showed off a much needed new ground and pound system that aims to give players both attacking with, and on the receiving end of, grounded strikes more control as they look to finish the fight or return to their feet.
