Even casual fans of the game would know that Sly and Carmelita have had a budding romance since the first installment in the series, but when you really break down some of the things he has done for her you can truly see how much he cares about her.

At the end of the third game, we see that Sly has been hit in the head very hard. He appears to be suffering from amnesia, and Carmelita tells him that they are partners at INTERPOL. This sparks their real romance, and the physical aspect they have both craved.

While Bentley is spying on them, Sly winks at him, insinuating that he is simply faking it. To actively pretend like you have amnesia just to spend your life with someone you care about, while deceitful, is extremely sweet.

Even before the first game, he steals the Fire Stone of India intending to give it to her to show his feelings for her. Sly is constantly shown being head over heels in love with Carmelita, though he is more focused on the heists at hand in each game. In between his larger heists, you really get to see his feelings show through, and it is always adorable in his own devious way.
