5. Sly Didn't Save The Cooper Clan
Clockwerk has always been an extremely dangerous character throughout the franchise, being seen as the harbinger of doom for the Cooper Clan. While it is commonly believed that through the hard work of Sly and the gang, he was able to defeat Clockwerk and save the Cooper Clan forever, this is not true.
After the defeat of Clock-La, Sly and Murray are attempting to help Bentley who has been crushed by pieces of the enormous metal bird. Carmelita arrives on the scene to see that the battle is already over, which does not make for a happy cop.
In her fury, she stomps on the Hate Chip, disintegrating all of the Clockwerk pieces and saving the Cooper Clan forever. This proves that Carmelita is more than just the officer chasing Sly, and without her in his life Clockwerk would still be roaming the earth.
The saving of the Cooper Clan was not even done by a Cooper, making this an interesting twist in Sly’s story. It had been built up for so long that Sly would be the one to deal the finishing blow on the horrid villain, but seeing a strong character like Carmelita do it is just as satisfying.
