The player-centric story of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is so fascinating that it's easy to get swept up in progressing the events early on. Later on, when things calm down and reach a more amicable pace, you'll suddenly start to realise how vast and well-populated its portion of the galaxy is.

The lore of this behemoth franchise is deeply embedded throughout the adventure, with almost countless secrets and easter eggs to uncover in every location. When you take the time to wander off the beaten track in KOTOR, you'll probably find it very difficult to focus back on what you're 'supposed' to be doing.

Inevitably, the temptation to seek out the secrets of Star Wars within this game will, like the Dark Side of the Force, always prove tough to resist. Searching for unique new crystals for your Lightsaber or scouring datapads for extra secrets and stories can quickly send you down a warren and away from your narrative goals.

But, when the experience of searching is this fun, maybe the endless Bounty Hunter life is the best one after all?
