Long running strategy series Romance of the Three Kingdoms bases itself rather closely on the ancient Chinese texts known as the 'Records of the Three Kingdoms', itself a retelling of the late Eastern Han dynasty and Emperor Han. Dynasty Warriors, on the other hand, is a hack and slash action series that far more loosely ties itself to the same lore, adding on a couple of less likely changes in the process.

Dynasty Warriors 2 set this series on its course of wild, over the top action sequences. Here you choose your particular hero and guide them across various missions among real-time battles, with the simple goal of defeating the other kingdoms and unifying China. Putting aside the fact that you're changing history for a moment, it's the battles themselves where the more obvious changes occur.

It's highly unlikely that any of these heroes were magic users or had the incredible ability of juggling various people in the air whilst slashing and dicing them to tiny pieces in a blink of an eye. Dynasty Warriors would certainly want you to believe that, but even Ip Man couldn't kick six people in the air and toss them around like a garden salad with just a sword and we all know Donnie Yen is a God among mortals.
