10 Times Lara Croft Went Too Far
1. Lara Triggers An Apocalypse... TWICE.
The entire plot of Shadow of the Tomb Raider revolves around Lara Croft taking an artefact that she shouldn’t…sounds familiar right? Well, while we saw the consequences in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation were localised to a few areas of Egypt, we see a harder hitting apocalypse triggered in this game.
In The Last Revelation Lara took the Amulet of Horus out of ignorance. In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara ignores blatant warnings about taking the artefact.
She does it with good intentions, hoping to prevent Trinity from getting hold of it and causing more damage… however, she gets more than she bargained for.
Not only has she triggered the apocalypse, the leader of Trinity manages to get hold of the knife and intends to use it to shape the world in his image.
It’s serious stuff but this time around, the apocalypse has devastating consequences. Lara experiences, first hand, the natural disasters and sees people die; including a child. It’s horrible, it’s brutal and it’s all Lara’s fault.
The worst thing is, this devastation was entirely avoidable and Lara knows it.
