10 Times Silent Hill Was Absolutely Terrifying

It's okay, you probably didn't want to sleep through the night anyway.

Ever since Team Silent disbanded, fans and critics of Silent Hill feel like the series has been stuck in a rut. Konami has handed the franchise over to a variety of developers, such as Double Helix, Climax Studios, and more recently, Vatra Games - and while these developers have respectably tried to implement new ideas instead of reusing the old, outdated mechanics, none of them have yet to emulate the subtle, tension-building horror that the original developers excelled at. However, more recently the reigns were handed over to Hideo Kojima of the Metal Gear Solid series, and based on his demo for the upcoming Silent Hills, P.T., it's safe to say the franchise is in good hands. Since P.T. has been wildly successful at scaring players all over the world, now is the time to recount some of the times in which Silent Hill was absolutely terrifying. Whether it€™s the series€™ excellently planned jump scares or its moments of long buildup that allow players to scare themselves with their own imagination, these are the most bone-chilling moments that hopefully Silent Hills can either match or exceed in quality. Based on what you're about to see, both Konami and Kojima have a lot to live up to.
