10 Times Video Game DLC Was Better Than The Main Story

2. The Lonesome Road - Fallout: New Vegas

The Lonesome Road refines the Fallout experience into a single piece of DLC, and in the simplicity of its ideas, it excels. Exploring a linear path of destruction might sound like the antithesis of Fallout's core gameplay, but the concentration of quality makes it all the more enjoyable. It is just you and a robot companion trekking through the wasteland.

Aside from containing some of the most interesting areas in the game, it also does a lot for the story. Fallout protagonists are not known for having much character to them, but The Lonesome Road actually gives your character a backstory and poses an interesting moral dilemma. Not only does it do that, but it does it exceptionally well.

Whilst Old World Blues might have the wacky zany side of Fallout perfected, the Lonesome Road encapsulates that explorative side of the game.
