7. Talking Down The Master - Fallout

By the time you get to The Master, you're probably not feeling like talking. Especially since the idea of staring at this Cronenbergian nightmare across the length of an entire conversation likely makes you want to puke up your last three and a half meals. But if you do manage to keep your stomach in check and talk to him, you might start thinking you can maybe talk this psycho down.

And you would indeed be right. Among the many ways you can solve the super mutant problem, you can - provided you've jumped through a hoop or two beforehand - convince The Master to kill himself.

See, along the way, if you look in the right places, you find evidence that the super mutants cannot reproduce. They HAVE to mutate humans in order to make more super mutants. Which, considering The Master's plan was for the super mutants to supplant humanity entirely, is kind of a big deal.

Knowing this ahead of time will likely lead you to conclude that telling The Master this will rattle him. And sure enough, if you tell him this and choose your words carefully, The Master - realizing the futility of his goal and all the human life that had been taken for nothing - tells the player to never lose hope before killing himself.
