10 Times Video Games RECAST Major Roles

8. Christopher Judge - God Of War

Another major PlayStation franchise to make the list, God of War's gory action and immense scale have always made a staggering impact. A lot of that comes to the sheer power of its leading man, Kratos.

Across three whole games and a couple of PSP spin-offs, Kratos was portrayed as one of the most bloodthirsty protagonists in the video game medium. His lust for revenge caused the deaths of countless Gods, mere mortals and eventually the entirety of Ancient Greece. Through it all, Terrence Carson delivered the character's rasping cries with immense impact.

After a full trilogy of voicing Kratos, Terrence Carson was replaced by Christopher Judge in order to provide an older, more grizzled version of Kratos. With the franchise making its debut on PS4, Santa Monica Studio shifted gears to a more thoughtful and mature adventure. Christopher Judge was a perfect fit for this new style as the bond between Kratos and his son Atreus was placed at the centre of the experience.

Judge certainly got into the role both in and out of development, continuing to wow the masses with the famous line: "Read it, boy" at The Game Awards in 2018. He will reprise the role again in the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok.
