10 Times Video Games Ripped You Off

3. Paying For Save Slots - Metal Gear Survive

Cod Points - Micro Transatcions

It's hard to rip off people more than making them pay money out of pocket for an extra freaking save slot. Why Konami thought this was a good idea is anyone's guess. But then, the same can be said of 99% of Konami's decisions.

Metal Gear Survive was pretty much doomed from the start - being the first Metal Gear game made after Hideo Kojima was booted from the company - but I doubt ANYONE saw coming the fact that this game would nickel and dime you for the simple luxury of getting to save your progress.

There are a ton of microtransactions in the game, practically too many to list, but they pretty much all pale in comparison to the slap in the face that this one offers. Not only because it represents gaming's corporate greed at its most shameless and slimy, but also for the offensive notion that anyone - ANYONE on god's green earth - would pay money to play this game a second time.

Playing this game once is all you need to know you wasted your money when you bought it. Why would you waste money on it again?
