4. Retroactive Microtransactions - Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Remastered

Cod Points - Micro Transatcions
Activision

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare is still considered to be the best of the entire series, and it really isn't hard to see why if you go back and play it. Even if you aren't an aficionado of FPS games, you can clearly tell that this game is just a tighter run ship than the others.

So when Activision said they were going to remaster the game for the PS4, fans rejoiced. Sure there was a slight bristling at having to buy Infinite Warfare as a bundle to be able to play it, but hey, two games for the retail price of just one was not a bad deal.

But again, this is Activision. Of course there was a catch.

That catch of course being that the online mode, the part that fans were most looking forward to revisiting, now had retroactively added microtransactions. Sure, you could still get your hands on all of the goodies the multiplayer gives you through grinding, but that put you at a distinct disadvantage against the players who paid to have it sooner.

It wasn't the microtransactions themselves that put people off, it was the fact that people bought this game for a classic COD experience, and they found something they bought the game specifically to get away from.
