10 Times Video Games Sucked On Purpose

8. Goat Simulator - The Entire Game

Every so often we get a product that lives and dies on its wacky premise alone; 2014's Goat Simulator is one of them. Developed by Coffee Stain Studios, the game is pure madness, with players controlling a rabid, seemingly supercharged goat on a mission to demolish the surrounding suburban towns.

It wasn't always like this; Goat Simulator started off as a joke software that made the rounds in Coffee Stain's office after they finished up work on Sanctum 2. Someone on the dev team though: "There's a game in that", so they quickly knocked out the title in Steam early access. Later the game would arrive on consoles.

With its ragdoll physics, mindless action and minimal attention to detail, the game started to gain traction when it earned three million views on YouTube in a single day. This popularity would continue for a good portion of the year.

It's a defective, bug ridden game to play, but for many a gamer there was a certain charm to Goat Simulator on release. The developer made full use of social media and viral marketing to snag a fanbase for the game on release and while it was hardly a complete product, there was still a novelty to trying it out.
