10 Times You Bought The Wrong Video Game INTENTIONALLY

3. Buying Star Wars: Rebel Strike For The Classic Star Wars Arcade Games

I’m a sucker for Star Wars, and I’m not shy admitting that Rogue Squadron was the reason I was swayed towards buying a GameCube as my first console of that generation. Even now, a decade and a half later, it’s still extremely impressive to look at.

However, its more ambitious sequel, Rebel Strike, attempted to do too much - stabbing its fingers in all the pies at the same time, like me at that Harvester in Stirling I’m banned from. Including on-foot sections, Speederbike chases and more, the fun was spread a little too thinly, and the dogfighting - the bit we all really wanted - was relegated to every other level.

It seemed, then, that Factor 5 had an ace up its sleeve, including all the original arcade titles with this GameCube follow-up. Unbeknownst to them, though, was that including these cleaned-up classics was more than just a bonus to some collectors, who believed these versions to be superior ways to enjoy the early 3D, vector-based adventures.

But scalpers, calm your raging upsell boners - hearing of the increased demand, the game was subsequently over-manufactured by LucasArts, and now you can grab a copy for a tenner.
