10 Times You Were An Utter Dick To NPCs

6. Soldier Missiles - Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain might not be everyone's favourite entry in the long-running series, but its gameplay can be seriously addictive.

Putting the stealth sim into an open world blew things open in weird and wonderful ways that should be expected of Hideo Kojima and company. After all, the auteur is famous for putting some truly iconic and downright hilarious tools at the players' disposal over the years, like hiding from guards in cardboard boxes or distracting them with dirty magazines.

One of The Phantom Pain's biggest new additions are recovery balloons, which are designed to be used to airlift downed soldiers and valuable assets off the field. Unsurprisingly, players found ways to abuse the system by strapping the balloons to enemy soldiers and watching them shoot into the air.

This is hardly the end though. Why not strap C4 to a soldier and send him flying into an enemy helicopter? It'll save you some cash on rockets if you can make a cheap, messy, manned explosive.

But what's perhaps worse is inflicting punishments like lifting and dropping crates on unsuspecting soldiers can also include your own allies. Better yet, your buddies will just simply get airlifted out of the situation since you can't actually lethally harm them.

And if you can't lethally harm NPCs, let's face it, they're basically ripe for exploitation.
