10 Trailers That Completely Misrepresented Their Video Games

Oh, Cyberpunk 2077. There are few games that have gone through so many ups and downs in quality. Now the Phantom Liberty DLC has brought a lot of players back around but at launch the game was kind of a gigantic mess. Which is pretty entertaining since the early announcement trailers explicitly stated that the game would be released “when it’s ready”.

Ironic. What we got was a bunch of missing promised features, a Bethesda-grade swath of bugs, and a subsequent slew of returns.

It certainly didn’t help that CD Projekt Red later discovered the game barely runs on the original PS4 even now. While it actually functions now which is a whole lot better than it was at launch, you’re still getting a massively inferior experience. Promises galore without the ability to deliver was the initial issue so unless you, like me, were lucky enough to wait a year before you even tried to play Cyberpunk, you’d be forgiven for being so disappointed you didn’t want to give it another shot.

It’s a pretty impressive story of redemption at this stage, just like No Man’s Sky, and for those who refused to give up on it, they were finally well and truly rewarded.
