Can you believe it's been nearly six years since the release of the original Red Dead Redemption? Ever since that game hit store shelves in 2010, gamers have been clamouring for a new entry in the western series, and at this point, 2016 has to be the year that we finally get to see it.

Not only has Take-Two promised that they'll be attending this year's E3 in a "big way", but a rare conference from the publisher looks to be on the cards also. Considering the games Take-Two has coming out this year, including Battleborn and Mafia 3 (both of which will release before this year's event), the publisher has to have something up its sleeve to make the investment worthwhile.

And at this point, it has to be Red Dead Redemption 2. Although GTA V only came out two and a half years ago, an entirely separate Rockstar studio is responsible for the wild west series, meaning that they've had almost six years to craft a worthy successor.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming, and even if we don't get to play it, we're definitely seeing something this year.
