10 Underplayed Races You Should Try In Dungeons And Dragons

7. Tabaxi

Loxodon D&D
Wizards of the Coast

The bipedal cat people known as the Tabaxi hail from a strange and distant land. They are nearly always travellers and explorers. They have an innate need to see distant lands and delve into ancient ruins, in the pursuit of knowledge. Tabaxi are restless, however, not liking to stay in one place too long. Now if that doesn’t sound like the perfect adventuring character for Dungeons and Dragons, then I don’t know what does?

If you want to know about the stats of a Tabaxi, you only need to think about what abilities a cat has in real life. They get a +2 in dexterity, a +1 to charisma. and proficiency in perception and stealth. Exactly like cats, they have the ability to climb whatever they can find. They often land on the chaotic side of the alignment. Not evil, but they just act on impulse.

Tabaxis would fit a lot of different classes quite well. Of course, the obvious would be a rogue, ranger or any sort of dexterous based fighter. Their stats and abilities, however, could help any classes survivability and skill set. Just remember to watch out for them near the Kenkus.
