10 Underplayed Races You Should Try In Dungeons And Dragons

6. Warforged

Loxodon D&D
Wizards of the Valley

Created for a long-forgotten war, the Warforged are a race of sentient robotic soldiers, made of metal and wood. The first race of Warforged were nothing more than soulless machines, but this new race now feels pain, emotions and has free will. Originally built as a weapon, these automatons now wander the world looking for a purpose.

Warforged are for all intents and purposes, walking metal and wood constructs. While they do have free will, the body that they inhabit is nothing more than a shell. Because of this they have many resistances. They have a +2 in constitution and a +1 in another ability of their choice. They also have no need to eat, sleep or drink, are immune to disease and resistant to poison. This combined with a sentry mode that they can activate, means that they are perfect soldiers and guards, not having to stop and rest, unless they need health or spell slots of course.

Theses resistances along with a +1 to Armour Class make the Warforged a living tank, perfect for any frontline fighting class, or simply a player that wants to increase their survivability.
