10 Underwhelming Video Games With MUST-PLAY DLC

9. New Super Luigi U - New Super Mario Bros. U

Nintendo

When the Wii U launched, Nintendo fans were excited to explore the Mushroom Kingdom in the latest New Super Mario Bros sequel.

Unfortunately, New Super Mario Bros. U was just... meh. Let's not kid ourselves, when it comes to a 2D platformer revolving around the wahoo-yelling plumber, we know what to expect.

But with this entry, Nintendo didn't even attempt to mix things up. This instalment is so similar to its predecessor on the Wii, you couldn't tell them apart if you placed them side-by-side. If you already purchased New Super Mario Bros. Wii, there was no need to check this title out, since it didn't offer anything new.

But all that changed when the New Super Luigi U DLC was released the following year. Although the levels in this version are shorter than in the regular game, they are far harder. Because you have a tight time limit in each level, you need to move at superspeed and maintain impeccable precision to win.

Because Super Luigi U has some of the hardest levels in the entire franchise, it's a must-buy for Mario veterans who're looking for a real challenge.
