10 Unfair Dark Souls Enemies
7. Any Swamp Or Water Level - All Three Games
If a game is released in this series and doesn’t have a hugely frustrating poison swamp or water-based level, is it even a Souls game? The fascination that the games developers seem to have with this concept is clear because they seem hell-bent on including some form of it in every iteration.
The original game had Blighttown. A much-loved and definitely not infuriating level where enemies tried to toxic you, falling to your death was far too easy and best of all, standing in the swamp itself built up poison and drained your health slowly.
Harvest Valley in Dark Souls 2 was the box ticked for that game. Pools filled with poisonous gas, enemies and loot to entice you in. Nothing makes a game more enjoyable than forgetting you’ve been poisoned, running out of moss and dying because you got distracted.
And Farron Swamp in Dark Souls 3. Most notable location of the Basilisks, they were more dangerous than ever here since your movement was slowed by the swamp. And it poisoned you as well, because of course it did. Using any dagger's weapon art let you quickstep even in the water and is highly recommended.
