10 Unhinged Video Game Characters That Would've Made Perfect Villains

8. Dante (DmC: Devil May Cry)

The Dante from the original Devil May Cry series was a pretty likeable hero in many ways. His one-liners and cavalier attitude toward dangerous situations may have put some people off, but he had a heart of gold. Though his macho posturing occasionally verged on the obnoxious, Dante had a whole host of positive characteristics. He took on jobs from poorer cliental despite the lack of pay, he had a strong sense of justice and he never fought humans or opponents who were obviously weaker than himself. In 2013, Ninja Theory released DmC and introduced the world to the all-new Dante, a vulgar and unlikeable brat that spends the vast majority of the game acting unnecessarily aggressive and mean-spirited. He€™s like a teenager who thinks he€™s a rebel, a brooding outsider that can just about sum up the necessary energy to care about the fate of the world. In comparison to old version, the new Son of Sparda comes across as an unstylish, womanising adolescent that takes little responsibility for his actions and their consequences. If he were transported to the universe of the original Devil May Cry, his superhuman powers would actually make him a worthy adversary for the original Dante. Now that's a parallel dimension crossover we'd like to see.
