4. Kratos (God Of War)
Tricked into killing his family by the Gods, Kratos has been on the warpath ever since, maiming and murdering some truly epic foes in order to get his revenge. Until the final instalment of the series, I often wondered how it could possibly end well for our destructive protagonist, especially considering the fact that Kratos had either killed or made enemies of everything in existence by this point. Were we expected to believe he would settle down and raise crops, or start a book club? Hes a battle-hardened monster raised on a diet of blood and entrails, there was no way it could end well for him. So, why not have him become the thing he despised most? Imagine if Kratos had taken up the mantle of Zeus at the end of God of War 3 and kept Athenas powers instead of sacrificing them. We already know that Kratos likes to spend his time murdering innocent people and pillaging cities, so why not? Like Nathan Drake and Jackie Estacado, Kratos is a already more than halfway there. He was a beast long before he made a pact with Ares, and he continued to act like a monster until the very end. Add some divine powers and hed be an unstoppable juggernaut, a worthy adversary for any future hero to overcome.
