10 Unpopular Opinions That’ll Make Gamers Rage

8. Saints Row Is More Fun Than GTA

I've a bit more to say about GTA in a later point, but following stumbling point that was Gat out of Hell, it's time to address Saints Row overall.

Starting out as a total GTA rip-off for the original Xbox, it was seemingly created to literally just be a new crime-sim that console fanboys could champion over Rockstar's Sony-born behemoth. However once part two rolled in and developer Volition started realising that the crazy tinges introduced by San Andreas - such as the idea of something like the jetpack - had an appeal, so they took the ball and ran with it, producing many peoples' Game of the Year for 2011 in Saints Row 3.

Featuring an out-an-out hilarious script where your customised character is always doing something you can't wait to tell your friends about, alongside fun shooting that melded over-animated melee attacks with weapons as insane as the Call of Duty-esque Reaper Drone strike - these new games offer up that sense of reckless abandon older GTA did on a silver platter.

It remains to be seen how far they can push this sort of fourth wall-shattering self-aware comedy further, but being that one of Saints 4's opening levels saw you escaping from a facility by doing the Stone Cold Stunner on some aliens, only to be rescued and have Haddaway's "What Is Love?" come on the ship's radio... I'd say pretty far.
