10 Unrealistically Hyped Video Games That Inevitably Sucked

5. Two Worlds

Two Worlds definitely did re-define fantasy RPGs alright, although it got its name listed under the definition of "terrible Oblivion rip-off" in the dictionary. You might think i'm being too hard on the game, but let's go back to that wonderful period in this generation when we were innocent of continual system updates and the Xbox 360 was enjoying a steady second place behind the Wii and in front of the PS3. Two Worlds entered the market at about the same time as Bethesda's entry to the Elder Scrolls series, Oblivion. Such a huge world and variety of the landscape of Cyrodiil changed the way some gamers saw RPGs. Fans of other games in the franchise found it to be a little different but nonetheless a worthy contender for one of the best games on 360. Then Two Worlds showed up. Immediately it faced a backlash of people comparing it to Oblivion, which wasn't surprising. Both were fantasy roleplaying games, both featured a huge open map to explore and both were glitchy as all hell. The difference was Oblivion was charming and functional. Two Worlds suffered from poor graphics, in comparison, a terrible interface and shoddy voice acting. Admitedly Oblivion didn't have the best voice acting with all three of its voice actors, but at least it was funny listening to beggars in the Imperial City suddenly take on a much more refined manner of speech when you ask them about rumours. I shouldn't get distracted with Oblivion but can you blame me? For a game that said it would revolutionise fantasy RPGs it really fell at the first hurdle. Oblivion made short work of this over hyped troll bait.
