6. Final Fantasy XV
So here we are in the early stages of 2016, and we're STILL waiting for Square Enix to give us a firm release date for Final Fantasy XV. The troubled development process and identity crisis that the game has (somehow) managed to emerge from unscathed has no doubt put the developer in a state of reserved optimism, and they - quite rightly - want to avoid giving us a release date that they ultimately can't deliver upon. At this point though, it's fairly safe to assume that Square are putting the finishing touches on the game as we speak. Episode Duscae - despite the disclaimer that it's not representative of the final product - has given us a good idea of what to expect when it comes to general exploration, quest structure and how badass Summons will be, but there's so much more I can't wait to see. Are there any limits to how far Noctis can warp in battle? What kind of effect does the dynamic weather system have on gameplay? Will stealth sections like that seen in the most recent trailer be a common occurrence? Square's been promising more news - including a release date - will be revealed at a special event in March, so we'll no doubt be inundated with new footage to pore over within the next few weeks.
