8. Sonic Lost World (Oct 18)
Always rely on Sonic to deliver the goods, especially when he's starring in a game exclusive to the Wii U and 3DS, and sure to be a unit seller. The game has Sonic blasting through levels ranging from the regular, Mega Drive-era 2D fare, to 3D levels more reminiscent of recent years, and also some spherical stages in the style of the Super Mario Galaxy games. Some nifty new features include the ability to perform parkour-style acrobatics to scale objects, and for a player to be assisted by their friend using the Wiimote and nunchuk. A minor scandal surrounding the game erupted this week when it was revealed that it has been assigned a higher age rating than is usual for the blue hedgehog, due to violent dialogues such as "One second youre contemplating genocide, and As long as I can still strangle a Zeti, my hands are fine." This is what you get when you employ Ken Pontac, writer of Happy Tree Friends, to co-scribe the game. Though this controversy
could affect the game's sales slightly - by way of overly concerned parents - it's still likely to be a big hit.
