Set in a bizarre, dystopian English town in the 1960s, We Happy Few started off as a little indie project but has grown into a full-fledged release, being published by Gearbox and set to come out on PS4, Xbox One and PC. There's a lot of hype around this one and even talk of a movie adaptation!

From what we've seen so far, We Happy Few looks to have bags of charm and a really unique aesthetic, combining survival and RPG elements in an eerie Orwellian world. While writing the story, the developers took cues from 1984 and Brave New World, while also taking inspiration from movies like A Clockwork Orange and V for Vendetta to craft the game's twisted sense of style.

With a procedurally-generated open world, no two playthroughs will ever be the same, and the game's creepy masked characters look set to provide some intense scares. Despite a lengthy and problematic development process, We Happy Few should finally get its official release later on this year.
