1. Battlefield 4 (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One - Oct 29)
But back to this year's Call of Duty: Ghosts for a minute. There's one game that it's going to be very clearly squaring off against in the most direct way, and that's Dice and EA's Battlefield 4, following from the gap-closing effort they made with 2011's excellent Battlefield 3. Though the single-player offering wasn't up to much last time, DICE are apparently keen to listen to fans and remedy this, hopefully bringing it more in line with CoD's snappily entertaining campaign. Still, the key appeal will be the stupendously entertaining multiplayer, if it's anything like the last game. From the gameplay that has been shown off so far, a concerted effort has been made to make the multiplayer battles feel even more dynamic, with set-pieces being inserted, such as, quite incredibly, a building exploding around players. If DICE have plenty more of
this up their sleeve, then I know what's going to be getting most of my attention in the coming months, once GTA V's excitement has died down a little. Which game do you think best has a chance at toppling CoD? Let us know in the comments below.
