In October 2022, technical artist, Alexander Spindler casually tweeted footage of a bodycam game, which he'd been working on.

Within days, the clip racked up millions of views, with everyone declaring it as the most realistic game they'd ever seen. The footage for this FPS is so authentic, you don't realise you're looking at a game until you see the protagonist fire his weapon. There were some who were in such disbelief, they assumed the footage was faked somehow.

But no. Despite being an indie developer, Spindler craft this little snippet himself using Unreal Engine 5.

What really sells the visuals on Spindler's project is how dirty everything looks. Nowadays, developers can't help slathering their games with sparkling visuals to ensure every pixel pops. Even the dank environments of Dead Space and Dark Souls look pretty somehow!

But none of the textures here are dressed up. It's not trying to look impressive. It's trying to look real... which makes it more impressive.

Little is known about Spindler's project (including the title), but the gaming community will be waiting with bated breath to learn more about this potential gamechanger.
